Default Parts Questions

Hi, I'm new to this site. I purchased a 2005 ZX-6R in August and have yet to find any local stores that carry anything for it. I am turning to you guys to hopefully guide me in customizing it a little. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

I was thinking for my first change to be the turn signals / rear light / plate. I really can't stand the way they stick out and that stupid big black thing on the back. I want to pick up some smoked euro turn signals and a LED integrated tail light w/ turn signals. Any suggestions? Will I need some sort of power regulator to slow down the blink rate?

After that I really would like to know of any place I can pick up a one-sided swingarm. If you don't know of any that are already made perhaps you could point me to a machine shop that could hook it up?

Also, I was reading on here some people that were putting HID lights in the bike and that sounds like a great plan however, I am a little lost on whether or not there are problems with people burning out their electrical or if there is a conversion that needs to take place.

Anyways, I look forward to some answers, hopefully.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure I know how to use the internet. I was really looking for some real advice on which ones to purchase. Maybe recommendations and places to find good pricing. I have read through the places to purchase things and am looking for specifics.

If you read my post I was asking some specific questions regarding the different things I am looking for. If there is anyone else who could be helpful I would appreciate it.

I bought my stuff from 58cycle.com. I ordered on Tuesday and everything will be here today with free shipping. I bought the Clear Alternatives Integrated taillight ($84.95), Smoked euroturn signals ($78.95), swingarm mounted license plate bracket ($108.95), carbon fiber frame sliders ($67.95), and carbon fiber swingarm sliders ($39.95). They have free ground shipping on orders over $199. This was the best that I could find for one stop shopping. I'm not sure about the blink rate on the taillights. I know that you can use a resistor to slow down the blink rate and I can get that from Radio Shack. I'm putting everything on my bike today and I'll let you know what I find out. I haven't seen anything on a one-sided swing arm but I haven't really been looking. I'm still researching into the HID. I hear some people have problems and some don't. I guess if you knew what you were doing you wouldn't have any problems. I hope some of this was helpful.

Thank you very much guys! I will check those sites and compare, however, I found a guy on ebay selling a package deal. Brand new Tail kit / Smoked Euro signals for $150 + Shipping.

ryninger, I really appreciate you hooking me up with the free shipping from indysuperbikes.com! I checked out your pictures and site. Nice!

Has anybody else figured out the deal with the HID bulbs? Do you guys ride with your brights on all of the time too, because man am I annoyed with people telling me that my one light is out. I wish I could get them both to run all the time. Let me know what you got!

Also, what about the Akrapovic Slip-On exhaust? Is it worth it, my wife likes the look over the others but she's not cool about the cash I guess my question is does anyone use it and does it sound good?

I have the HID bulbs, and I only ride witn one on unless I am riding at night. The reason is a little petty I guess you might say, but I do it so that if someone does comment I have a light out then it shows that they don't know their bikes. Y'all might think it is dumb, but it helps to show credibility, esp if someone want to start telling me how to do a "special" mod on my bike....
