i recently purchased a 1990 zx6 from a friend for 200, it needs a new chain, seat, winshield, and gas cap.
when I was about to look for a chain it gave me about 20 options from d.i.d and I am new to sportbikes, I had no idea what to get.
also I cant find a website that has a seat, winshield or gascap,. and ive tried ebay.
any help would be great

Alot of people get the 520 conversion, it is a lighter set up. Plus it also gives you more acceleration. You lose some tope end, but honestly who really runs wide open in 6th more than once?

 

what is the stock chain? a 530?

 

I'm not sure on that honestly.... you'd have to do some research on the net, or the easiest way is to get in touch with a credible dealer in our area. If ya do the latter it is a good time to talk him down on price.

 

i found a seat, but a winshield and gas cap are eluding me.

i know here there is a motorcycle junk yard, and you could find stuff like that all day. any of those near ya? Im sure you could buy a aftermarket chrome gas cap, and a corbin seat......

 

also, how the hell does one open the gas cap? i think its stuck becuase it isnt budging for me/
