I used a cup wrench that is universal from Wal-Mart to do the filter on my R6. . .. perhaps the same black plastic cup "wrench: could work for your ZX6R or other bikes . . . . .

I paid somewhere around 3.50

K&N filter uses a socket wrench to remove it. the head on the filter is good for torqueing the thing down too.
i removed the stock filter with a screwdriver thru the thing. was a pain

that is one mean looking tool. what is it? does it slip over the k&n bolt head? sometime removing a k&n causes the filter to torque/stretch. i think that evil tool should cover it all.

I used a craftsman band wrench, placed two bolt heads under the band to dig in and off the filter went.

I bought it at auto zone .It grips with the 3 arms and the more you torque on it the tighter it grips . It'll get er off for sure . Just slip it on and use a 3/8 ratchet
