no gas = no start now
hey guys, I'm really posting for my buddy who doesn't have the internet. anyways, we were playin around today and was ridin his 03 636 well it ran out of gas, while doing a burn out in the driveway. So we go and get some gas, top the tank off, and it won't start, it flutters every now and then but just will not go. Every possible thing ahs been checked and proven ok, except for one thing...is it possible th efuel pump ran dry and has drawn air into the fuel system?? if it did how would I go about purging the system to remove it?? thanks guys!
Not having owned a fuel injected bike before, I'm probably not the guy to tell you, but I would imagine if the bike didn't purge itself through the injectors, maybe the fuel rail has a schrader valve you could purge the air through.
it should purge or bleed the air out on its own, i had the same thing happen to a buddy of mine this weekend and we just put some in and kept trying to start it until it started, took a few min though for the gas to work its way back into the system.
when you fill it back up, turn the key a few times to get the fuel pressure built up in the system, then it should be a little hesitant and start and purge itself out and return to normal. since you allread started it like you did, it should clear itself out.
well heres the crazy part, I just found out they hooked the battery to his truck battery ( jump start ) and literally laid in the starter for over 3 hours, not all at once obviously but for pretty long periods of time..idiots lol they never did get it started, but heres here an even dumber question, on the right side of the bike there is a clear plastic bottle marked with an F and a L its somewhere near the top around the seat area ( if my memory serves me right ) what is this for?????? do you have to have some kind of oil in it? could this be why the " Fl" and oil light stay on when its gets cranked over?? thanks guys lol why do they have to make these machines so complicated and high tech anymore lol
have him check the fuses and if there not burnt and the starter spins then hes ok, stupid but the bike should be ok granted it wasnt overloaded and anything fried.
that bottle is the coolant overflow for the radiator.
that bottle is the coolant overflow for the radiator.
I assumed the lights cam eon until it was running, my atv does that, just wasn't sure. the fuel pump works great I tested it, I just unhooked the fuel line, left the pump hooked up the wiring harness and turned the key, it shot gas across tyhe garage, so it has great pressure I will check for fuses though
