Newbie....
HEY WATSUP GUYS...THIS IS A YOUNG 20 YEAR KID FROM NEW JERSEY WHO JUST BOUGHT HIS FIRST BIKE...AND PROUD THAT IT IS A KAWASAKI NINJA ZX-6. I BEGAN THIS LONG PATH TO GETTING MY BIKE BACK WHEN I WAS 17 WHEN I CRASHED MY CAR AND I DECIDED SINCE I WAS TURNING 18 THAT I WOULD LIKE TO GET MY MOTORCYCLE LICENSE. IT TOOK A WHILE BUT I ENDED UP PASSING THE TESTS AND I SIGNED UP FOR THE MSF RIDER COURSE AT ONE OF THE UNIVERSITYS IN THE SUMMER. I PASSED AND I GOT MY LICENSE THE NEXT DAY. THE NEXT STEP WAS TIMELY AND TOOK ABOUT 1 YEAR AND A HALF TO WORK AND SAVE MONEY AND BASICALLY FIND A GOOD DEAL. I MET A FRIEND IN COLLEGE DURING THAT YEAR OF WORKING AND GOING TO SCHOOL AND HE INTRODUCED ME TO HIS BEST FRIEND WHO HE ROOMS WITH AND HE HAD THE BIKE THAT I ENDED UP BUYING. WE INSTANTLY GOT INTO MANY CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE BIKE AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD BUY THAT BIKE BECAUSE IT WAS THE BEST DEAL. HE DECIDED TO TAKE THAT IN CONSIDERATION AND NOTIFIED ME THIS PAST CHRISTMAS THAT HE WOULD SELL ME THE BIKE. THE FINAL PRICE WAS $2700 FOR A 2000 KAWASAKI GRN ZXR-6 BIKE. MY LONG JOURNEY ENDED AND ADREAM CAME TRUE FOR ME ON MY BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR. IM SO HAPPY AND IM LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT SEASON OF RIDING AND LEARNING. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ANY OF YOU GUYS WHO HAVE READ THIS AND WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU FELLAS LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK THIS WAS A FAIR PURCHASE OR A GOOD BARGAIN...
Welcome to the forums!
Depending on the mileage and condition, I think it was a pretty good deal. $2700 is about as high as I would go for an 8yr old bike but you will get plenty of life out of it if you keep up on the maintainence.

i would have to agree, 2700 is alittle high (out there though the market may be totally different)but you can never put a price on the first bike. im sure you will love it. have fun out there and be safe
Welcome and quit yelling
(CAPS) Sounds like you really thought out the process, good for you, and congrats on the MSF. Again welcome and back it off the caps a little.[8D]

Welcome to the forums! If it's in good shape it's a decent deal. If you love it, it's a great deal. Take a riders school or aMSF class. It will help your riding and keep you safer on the road. It's more about having to watch for other driversthan yourself. Ride Safe.
your situation was simular to my first bike year's ago I think it's a good deal and with an older bike you should be able to get your hands dirty and learn some things about bike's(cars such) make shure u mention to your insurance company that you completed the rider course...a little discount there....happy and safe riding this season, welcome to the forums!!!
Welcome to the forum. It sounds like it was a good deal, NADA blue book says average retail is 2900. if it was well taken care of that means alot. If your happy, thats what matters.
