new zx6r owner, rider with some honest questions
The horsepower measured at the crank is all the raw power the engine produces. The rear wheel horsepower is the power actually put to the street after all power transfers are complete through the vehicle.
1.) It will power wheelie (front end comes up under hard acceleration) but this is based largely on where you weight is on the bike. Sliding your rump back or forward a mere 3" will have a huge effect over this. On the other hand however, if you are being greedy with the throttle, and you have your weight forward on the bike, the rear tire will spin. Your idea of a break in period is likely a good idea and will help you learn the bikes characteristics. Trust me, you will come to love that power and like most of us, you will inevitably yearn for an extra 400cc's...
...at which point you will get them...
... then you will truly scare yourself shirtless.. [:-]..
.. and return to 600ccs

2.) Your right hand controls your destiny.
...at which point you will get them...

I can agree to this but maybe in the 750cc range. Of course the extra 400cc's is a kick in the pants as well. Especially while in 4th gear.
