New Tire ?
I have a 06 zx6r and the rear tire needs to be replaced. should I replace both front and rear tires? What tires are good for street and some track days? I can get 180/55-17 avon av62/rear and 120/70-17 avon av61/front for 250.00. has any body heard about these tires and are they any good.

RE: New Tire ?
Most of the street riders say that they are good. Not much is mentioned on the track rider group since they do not even try them. So no opinion. Looks like a good tire though.

if your just commuting and the fronts fine then just do the back, if your canyon riding and railing it then you should throw on a set of fresh rubbers, well i would anyway. get tires that are designed to handle your riding style and environment. mabey consider the pilot power 2ct's for street and track use. you can shop around and get a set off pp's or some dunlops for the same price as those avons. start here

Thanks for the input. The Dunlop Q look like a good tire. It comes in a 190/55-17 rear, is it good to go wider and taller, or should I keep it the same as stock? The new zx10r come with the 190 on the rear stock.

I bought a continental Road Attack rear tire and it's badass...It seems to want to tip into corners for you. Handles well in wet and dry conditions. Great deep tread for long life...It has a great look also. Got it for around 160 installed
