Don't sweat the mileage. Depending on how your friend rode it, be more weary on the tires, suspension, chain, etc. These engines will run but a compression check or leak down may be usefull.

If it's been well taken care of, then it's a great deal, and you should jump all over it. These bikes are nothing like the ones that were out 20 years ago. They are a lot more reliable, and run a lot longer. It used to be, bikes were worn out after 15k miles, and were ready for the scrap yard. Not so anymore. It would be a good bike to learn on, and chances are, you're going to lay it down at one point or another. Better to lay down an old ZX6R than a new one! Just ask BN.

i paid 2000 for my 95 zx6r with 17000 on it. i think you are getting a good deal.

Nice price for the bike. Paid 1800 for 98 600 with almst 20,000 miles on it.
