New 06 zx636 break in
Engines haven't needed lenghty break in periods since they made the hone lines shallow and the metals better. It's more of a new rider break in period. Here is a cesna break in site. They certainly don't take it easy on plane engines. They just basically make sure nothings leaking or bad then fly the he11 out of a plane around the airports in case they have to land real quick.

i figure if i **** up the break in, im taking it back to the dealership, and saying fix it, someone ****ed up, and they will cover it under my warranty, or ill pitch a bi*** fit, i payed money for that dam thing, now they better honor the warrany...
On some airplane engine pistons they used to drill little holes all around the top of the ringland circumference so the combustion gas pressures would get behind and push the rings out against the cylinder walls. This was a trick used by car & drag racers also. Maybe some still do.
Was drilling the holes before they had L shaped rings? I mean the whole idea of the L shape is to get maximum pressure pushing on the ring. Much more pressure and they would bind and break. Of course I may not know as much about rings as I think I do.
Probably, but I couldn't tell you that for certain. This was back in 1987 when I was in A&P school. I know that some racers did the drilling too.
