Default Need some help

I have an 05 636. M4 Slip on exhaust. I was riding home from class the other night and was accelerating onto the onramp. I got on it pretty hard and heard a pop. Had no choice but to take it on home. I normally don't ride real hard and have been pretty easy on the bike. It only has 4,000 miles on it(dang deployments over the good riding months) has had it's first service and i was going to change the oil this weekend. The rest of the way home it ran ok (No sputtering or bogging down) but above 9,000 RPMs it would vibrate like it was going to come apart. I got it home and it was to late to do anything about it then. I've been pretty busy all weekend just went to start her up and see what i could figure out. She turns over and that's it. I can smell a little gas if i hold the starter for a few seconds so i'm assuming she's gettin gas and spark, only other thing needed to combust is air and nothings changed there either. Any ideas on what's up or suggestions for troubleshooting would be appreciated. I've gotta get her back running again, got a trip planned to Deals Gap to ride the Dragon's Tail Sept 10th. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Doesn't sound good. Of course a "pop" is absolutely nothing to go on. Either way seems like pulling the valve cover would be the first step.

Do you hear a lot of air? It's possible you popped a spark plug or plug boot. How high did you rev it and did you miss a shift? That vibration has me worried. Take the tank off and start looking. Also, if you have an infrared temp gun, check your exhaust pipe temps at each cylinder or you can use a spray bottle with water in it. Spray it at each header pipe while the bike is running. If the water takes longer to evaporate than the other cylinders, that's your problem cylinder.

I don't think his bike starts anymore. But I do like the idea of checking the sparkplugs. I might have jumped the gun with my advice but long distance troubleshooting was never my bag.

Ditto, It's very difficult troubleshooting without seeing & listening to the bike. All we can do is guess best with the described symptoms.
