Default Lowering Links

If you did not know, I have my bike lowered a bit. I have short legs and didn’t feel comfortable holding the bike up at its stock location. Well I have decided would like to go down a bit more. When I got my links, I bought them from a dealership not to far away. They where a Muzzy part for a ??-04 ZX-6R (and all the other models listed. It shows all of the listings on the website as the same part number for 05 as well.) I was not to long after the 05 was released and parts where not around. The dealership said it was the same lenth and the 04 link would give me the same reults on my 05. My question is:

Is the stock link on a 04 the same length center to center as the 05 stock link?
This is kinda directed to Speed since he has the 05 swingarm on his bike.

The reason I ask is I have the 3 position link. It is claimed to be stock height, 1-1/4 down, and 2-1/2 down. After putting this thing on, stock was a bit taller, 2nda bit shy of 1-1/4 (didnt have to cut the sidestand), and the 2-1/2 sat the lower faring damn near on the ground. I ended up leaving it in the middle. I would like to go to the 2-1/2 after seeing another 05 6R that was just a hair lower than mine. I just wanted to do some double checking before I go buy another link.

BTW: When I got them, I tried to align the stock to stock to figure out if it was the upper or lower whole I needed to use to accommodate the 2-1/2 drop, none of them lined up properly.

Also just curious- Would adjusting the rear shock spanner collars adjust height?I want to say it would affect rebound to much.....
