Left blinker problem
Just one problem with my new bike, a '96 ZX-6R: when I try to use the left blinker, I see my other guage lights (and headlight) dim, and the blinker doesn't do anything. Also, the RIGHT blinker works fine, but once I try to use the left blinker and it seems to short something, then the right one doesn't work either. I have to turn the key off and back on, then the right blinker will work again, but still not luck with the left. I haven't checked the fuses, but it seems that it can't be blowing a fuse if I can just turn the key off and have my right blinker work again....Does anyone have any idea as to what is going on and where the short (??) might be happening?
Thanks a bunch for any help, and I need to get this fixed before my bike can pass safety inspection in MO.

Quick new question:
The problem was in fact the left rear blinker bulb was blown , but it is aftermarket and the bulb came with the blinker, and I don't know where to get a new one. I went to AutoZone and got a bulb that was about the same size, and now the blinker works, but about twice as fast. Is there a standard wattage of bulb that I should be using? Doesn't the problem of fast blinking arise from the bulb having a different resistance?
Most bulbs I see at auto parts places have the '12V' standard branding, but really none show the resistance or wattage. How do I find one that will work?
Thanks!

Ask the AutoZone guys or look in the Bulb cross reference book. It should show the voltage & wattage. Tou have one that doesn't have enough resistance. Try another bulb of the same size if you can't get any answers for the parts guys.
