k&n filter

is it worth it for me to do a k&n filter with my new slip-ons? Anybody know?

I prefer the BMC, and yes it is worth it with your slip on.... BUT you HAVE to have a power commander with them. You can run one or the other and be okay, but if you put both on you have to install a powercommander or else your bike will run too lean, and running lean is bad...

As far as the filters go it is all just personal preference, I have been using K&N because I like to be able to reuse it. I believe that the BMC post better numbers though.

I just put a K&N in my 04 636 but have not had a chance to ride it because of the snow []

I am taking the bike to have a custom map done for it in April, so that will definitely help.

I am going to get my bike Dyno'd and they all recommend either BMC or stock instead of K&N.

You need to take extra care with the K&N when oiling and not over oil it or you decrease airflow.
One of the countries best known tuners Ivan of http://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/index.htm, test a wide range of filters and have recommends both. Actually makes kits for stock or aftermarket air filters.
