i'm an idiot, and i didn't get a manual with the bike. I need to get the seat off of an 03 zx6rr. I don't really feel like pulling really hard on it and "hoping" it comes loose. I can see where a tab slides into a slot underneath the seat, so it looks like i have to pull towards the back and up.

I believe you have a key hole just beneath the seat on or near the frame.. When you turn the key the seat should pop up. I am going off memory of my husbands bike but it seems thats where his is.

 

the rear seat comes off with the key the main seat has a screw that holds the back seat on by a piece of metal.

 

ah, so take the back seat off and there will be a screw holding the front seat down back there?

yeah hicktown is right I just talked to my hubby I guess I always watch him take off the cowl and did not notice the allen bolt for the seat, duh!

 

my 7 does not have the bolt I have a little thingy I pull and then pop goes the seat.

mines a 10mm nut and a latch that you slide to the right.
