how do I lock my bike?
So I just bought this '96 ZX6R second hand and it didnt come with a manual.
I was looking for one online, but apparently the only way to get one is to order it.
My question is 'How do I get the bike's ignition into the Lock position? if there is one?'
the paint around the keyhole has worn off, but I am assuming that when I press the key in and turn to the left it is in the lock position.
However once in that left position I cannot remove the key. Thought maybe there was a release but I dont know where it is?
Can someone fill me in?

Hey man, that happens to my bike once in a while. After pushing in the key and turning it, and turning the handlebars, hold the key with pressure to the left and bring the bars back just a little and the pin will go right in. That should let you take out the key at that point. Let us know if that works.
thanks Dr. deej, worked like a charm, now that I see how it works, thats the logical position for the wheel to be in. I appreciate your speedy response, I feel a lot better knowing my new red baby is a little safer.
just make sure your rear light dont stay on. on some, you can lock it or lock it in park, whitch turns the rear light on. dont rely on just the steering lock to keep her safe, look into a alarm or even a disk lock.
down here we just use bright red gun locks on the discs... they're usually free if you have a gun permit here and depending on if you got the right kind they work the same... lol.. i got the idea from a freind that is straight red neck
those cheezy *** gun locks arent very strong man, they will detur but not stop, much like everything out there. locks only keep the honest people honest.
Get both, a disc lock and an alarm. You can get a pager alarm pretty cheap. I have a more expensive Scorpio but the Gorrilla does a similar job but cheaper. I think one of the vendors here sells them.
