RE: high beams
You can remove the LH diffuser by crushing it and getting it out through the Bulb hole or intact through the harness grommet hole. The latter takes a bit of patience and finesse. As far as the stock H7 bulbs; they don't offer anything lower than 55 watts. You can adjust both of you stock headlight to the low beam position and use them in the hi-beam mode all the time. Maybe raise the lo-beam just a little and lower the hi-beam to match. The dual headlight mod uses a high & a low beam filament in each bulb. With the dual headlight mod on my bike both lights are on in the low beam and when the high beams are on, the low beams go off. You get a lot of light when needed with the mod.

great explaination speed. love your attention to detail. i did remove my low beam cover and lower my high beem and raised my low beam a touch. has worked great from day one. also used the silverstar bulbs love them. i would highly recommend them when doing a conversion.

You have to be careful. If you have your high beams on at night with oncoming traffic, you can blind them. They may see you but not see where they're going and end up running into you to avoid going off the road etc. I haven't had any problems with other drivers flashing their hi-beams since I did the dual headlight mod. I just like being able to see when leaning into turns now at night.

RE: high beams
If I'm riding alone at night I leave them on obviously if no one is coming at me, but if someone is then I leave them on for a second longer then switch off. I want to make sure they see me but that I don't blind them either. I have been in my car and been blinded by riders that don't turn them to low beam.
