The fans should kick on around 220. Mine ran hot last summer but have not had any problems this year. Try some engine ice also cahnge you oil to full synthetic. Will help it run cooler. But you really need to check your fan fuse first. If the fan fuse is good check the connection to the fan wiring. Post up what you find out. When I changed to full synthetic my bike started runnin about 5 degrees cooler.Use engine ice instead of water wetter. Because engine ice is made to be used with anti freeze. Water wetter is not suppose to be used with anti freeze. Make sure you get the fan issue fixed first thing.

Checked the fuse, and connectors couldn't see anything wrong with them that a visual inspection showed. But the fan was the least of my worries. The fan should have never kicked in that night or today the temp. should not have been jumping like that when i slow down or come to a stop. does anyone know anything about the water pump, ? could i have broke part of the impeller? I have the feeling that the fan didn't kick in because i didn't allow the temp to stay up there that long I was trying to keep on the throttle slightly cause like i said when i was not sitting still the bike kept a lower temp.

my bike is a 06 636 my temp runs from 170 to 215 depending what i am doing, highway around 170-185 when in town around traffic and lights 190-212 and the fan will kick in at 215 to knock it down quick into 195-200, have never seen mine get any higher then that and i keep a good eye on it just one of my compulsive ticks.
