goofy things we've done
hey all, i was just readin a thread about something so simple as puttin a hose on wrong screwin up the bike. well it happens, i thought it would be funny if we all said something simple/or goofy that we've done. i remember one day on my way to work i was gassin up, i saw a dude from work and waved. that distracted me and i ALMOST got off the bike at the pump without puttin the kickstand down lol. oh, and i've done the "kill switch" thing too haha. now the ball is rollin...
Two days ago when I took off my tank to remove and clean the tank and fuel pump because of rust build up I got the tank off thinking the gas would drain out off the fuel pump. After reading the manual you're supposed to have some sort of vacuum device to pump the gas out of the tank, PRIOR to removal. Since I had no way to remove the 3 gallons of gas left in the tank I decided to put a funnel under the fuel pump and remove the bolts and drain the gas into a gas can. Well, once I removed the bolts i jiggled the pump and it fell out! Next thing you know, out came a spewing 3 gallons of gas! So there I am trying to catch gas falling out of my fuel tank with a funnel and direct it into the gas can. There was gas EVERYWHERE! It took me like an hour to clean up and I am still suffering from the chemical burns and skin flaking on my hands from extended contact with the gas AND my garage reeks. I know, i know, it was a bonehead move. Next time, I'll be sure to have a pump to remove the fuel FIRST! LOL
i was backing my bike up into the garage and talking to my brother at the same time, when i went to get off my bike i didnt lower the kickstand , my bike leaned super low but luckly i didnt let go and picked it back up. i was lucky and all shaky for like 10 minutes afterwards. first day i had my bike i did the ignition thing to, forgot how to turn it on!!!!!! i had to get out the manual and read, damn i felt like a NOOB.
I'd already had my 94 Ninja for about a month, and decided to stop at the gas station close to my house and check my tire pressure. Got them aired up, got on the bike, cranked it and started to pull away and it died. Started it back up, started to leave and it died again. After the third try, became convinced that there was some kind of strange electrical problem causing the engine to die when I started to let out the clutch. Started looking around at various wiring trying to find a short and found nothing.
.....the f'king kickstand is down, bonehead.

mine didn't have the kickstand switch when i bought it. i've started to ride off with it down once or twice. always catch it can kick it up though - i've never peg legged on a turn.

Dude I'm getting owned left and right today. I thought it was funny that my post didn't show up in that bow thread, so I put it in there again. I guess that's what happens when you have 4 KF windows open at the same time. and no I'm not going to edit it, I want everyone to see that I'm still a noob after 2 and a half years and almost 10,000 posts. YEEEEEEE HAAAAAA[8D]

Riiiiiiiiiight. There are so many, I can't narrow it down. I'll think about it for a while.[8D]
