Just wondering on my 2004 zx6, how many miles do i have left when my gas light turns on?

So far i have got 93 miles in this tank. I put like 3.1 gallons in it. I dont redline or even take it past 7000rps so far. ONly owned for about a wk. SO i imagine this is good.

But just wondering how many miles left when the light goes on thanks. not taht im trying to run out, but would like to know.

 

normally about 20 miles. but you should be getting more miles out of the tank before the lite comes on. well then again i don't have an 04. i have an 05 636. but i don't think the tank on an 04 is smaller then an 05...

 

Well i dunno, i reocrd it as about 95 miles untill the light came on, what do you get. The guy at the cycle shop says it gets 30 miles per gallon and he was referencing all 600s i think, so sounds bout normal. Maybe you fill to the top? like squeezing in the extra i dunno. thanks for the help on the photo gallery i got it all set up check it out.

 

I used to commute on a liter bike and I would fill up with 4 gallons, go 168-172 miles. The light would come on around 148-154. In addition, I would ride it pretty hard.

If you want to test it, just fill up, reset your trip odometer, fill a small water bottle with gas and put it in your trunk. Then ride until it runs out. Just do not forget to record or remember when the light comes on.

30 MPG no freaking way it's that low, someone should slap that guy at the dealer.

 

ya i get get about 125 - 130 till my light comes on....

 

check your speedo error.... go on a freeway or interstate, and check your speedo distance to that of the mile markers... For example reset your odometer and go 10 miles according to the mile markers (not highway signs) and check it against your speedo... example in a 60 mile stretch my bike showed 69.4. So 69.4/60=1.156 approx. With that ratio you can get accurate speeds and distances. For a 100 mile trip my bike will show 115.6 miles, and when Traveling 65 the speedo will show approx 75.

 

Oh well i dont have the time right now to do the highway test. No tthat big of deal really. Except that mad kaw says he get 130 per tank thats awesome. Today i put in 3.2 gallons.

The guy at the dealer was a in the parts dept. I think he put my tires on.

Anyways not a big deal. I know the guy i bought this off of used to race it. I know he messed with the sprockets and suspension etc. Maybe that threw off the gas mileage. I dunno. But the bike is solid. He just bought a 05 ninja. So im sure there isnt anything mechanical.

I know he left ird plugs, bmc filter and penske susp on the front. Maybe that messes with gas light, who knows. But still 30 miles a gallon is better than my car! which prolly got like 20 miles gal.

 

that kind of work would effect the gas mileage. so anyway have fun with the bike.gear up and ride safe....

 

I have an 05 636, my lite comes on exactly with one gallon left. I also get 46 miles to the gallon, and on 3.5 gallons i can go 160 miles before the light comes on. If that is any help to you.

 

i have an 05 636 and betting the ***** off of this thing i get about 105 before the light and that is just under 3.5 if you ride it easy you should push 120 or so before the light
