Default front tire on zx65

I have an '05 zx6r and its time to replace the front tire. When I bought the bike it had a dunlop sportmax qualifier tire in the rear. I wanted to order the same tire for the front to match. Noticed that they do not make the stock size (120/65/17). They only make 120/60/17 and 120/70/17. If anyone knows where I could get that size in that same tire let me know. If not would it be better to use the smaller one or the larger one? Thanks.

It sounds like the only difference is the aspect ratio, (ratio of the sidewall height to the tread width), hm so I think it would really be your choice, though if it were me I would go with the 120/60/17 since it would give the bike a more aggressive stance. but that's just me, I could be wrong

if you go with the 120/70/17 it will offset the inacuracy of the speedo a little and make it read more accurately.

Just registered today, if not I would could have told you that if you go to Motorcycle Tire Store. com, they carry a Dunlop in the size you need. Matter of fact, I just ordered one today for the same exact bike. Hopefully you haven't bought a tire yet.

The 636's get their speed sensor readings from the output shaft of the transmission and not the front wheel. The 120/60-17 will quicken the steering and lower the bike's front 5mm and the 120/70-17 will slow down the steering but make it more stable and raise the front about 5mm's. On 05-06, I would go with the 120/60-17 because they are stable already. On the 03-04 I's go with the 120/70-17 because they are twitchy.
