Changing tire profiles will impact ride height.
Just like wider is not better the same goes for a taller tire.
If you plan on working with a suspension tuner and changing the ride height front and rear go for it but to just throw it on and not compensate for the geometry change it's a bad idea.

The 65 series will make the bike handle quicker. The 70 series will slow it down a little and make it more high speed stabledue to the raised front end ride height & the tire diameter. The 60 series will quicken it even more; just depends on what you're looking for.

so true on the above mentioned.
How is your comfort level with the ride at the moment and what do you plan on getting out of your ride with the tire choices.

I just went with dunlop qualifers. The front tire is now a 70 series. It seems to turn just as fats as the 65 series bridgestone. Actually, the only noticable difference with the new tires is the grip level, The qualifers are awesome. Great grip, and great stability. I highly recommend these tires. Ive heard the pilot powers are good too. I very happyi went with the dunlops.

Each tire manufacturer's sizes are slightly different. The bridgestones seem to run fatter than the Michelins. I had a Bridgestone 180/55 17and a Michelin 180/55-17 side by side and the bridgestone looked like a 190 (3/4" wider) compared to the Michelin. Also the tire profile has a lot to do with steering and handling. A more triagulated profile will steer/ fall inquicker in the turns. Most manufacturer's don't use half sizes so they must just round it of to the closest 60 or 70 series instead of 65. The 65 series BT014 was made specifically for the ZX6R's.

I haven't heard of anyone who has had any problems. It's just a 5mm difference. There's plenty of clearance between the tire & fender.
