Default Front tire for 06' 636

The stock tires for my 06' 636 are the bridgestone bt014s i think. Front is 120/65/17 and rear 180/55/17.

I got a Dunlop D220 180/55/17 for the rear since the stock tire was about to go bald. I got the tire on sale for 100$.

Ok the main question here is for the front tire. I can get a Dunlop d220 120/70/17 on sale for 80$, will the difference from stock65 to 70 really matter? I already got two different opinions. One guy at the moto store said that it will be fine no problems just a little higher ride. Another guy at the stealership said that the higher tire will rub my fender and I could easily fall off. He recommends I pick up a stock size bridgestone 120/65/17.

Now since I have a dunlop d220 in the rear already, I kinda wanted to get the same tread patter so I would really want to get the 120/70/17s.

My driving is commuting only. I do like to drive fast though.

What say you!? Thanks in advance

The Qualfiers are great! The 120/60-17 will steer quicker than the 120/70-17 but may be less stable at higher speeds. All depends on the type of riding but it won't be that great a difference.

The new radialtires don't grow at high speeds like the bias plies used to so rubbing isn't an issue. Just the difference in the quicker or slower steering. If you install a 70 series, you can always lower the front end 5mm to get back the handling if necessary.

Hey Blask, I changed my stock tire for a pirelli corsa III 120-70-17 and it was rubbing the FENDER at the back part by the radiator..I just trim the the tip of the fender off about an inch and it's fine now..Mines a 06' 636 by the way.. now im running a power race still no rubbing.

You could have justloosened the fender mount bolts and pulled the back away instead of cutting it. There is some play in the fenderbolt holes.
