Default Frame sliders '05-'06 636

Has anyone else had a pain in the @ss like I have trying to put damn frame sliders on? (Lockhart Phillips Carbon Fiber no cut sliders - Red Caps ... NICE)

I stripped the right hand side bolt that attaches the frame and engine and it's ticking me off! And then taking the fairing off the left side to instal the slider is a pain too. I had a 2000 f4 that was a piece of cake taking apart. (fairings anway) It's not hard by no means, but did anyone else have such a frustrating time?

nope, went with the vortex sliders. Fairing mod required, and I'm willing to bet my 30 minute install was a littlw quicker than what you are dealing with.... but as far as taking the fairings off, I have found it very easy to do...

I'm glad I'm not the only one. [sm=grin.gif] I'm going to work with one of my buddies who is a part time mechanic and I'll let you know how we get those damn bolts off!!

mines was easy and I have the LP Pro Impact ones too. Just have to make sure that the allen key is all the way in the bolt before you even think about trying to turn it, if not, then you will stripp out the bolt. I dropped the mid and lower fairing in one piece too, just take the three bolts on the top of each mid and the bolts on the lowers the go to the brackets and fairing were out of the way.

I just got mine off today. Make sure you loosen than bold securing the main bolt (your going to need a special tool ... i forget what it's called ... its the bolt with the notches cut into it) But yea, it only took 15 minutes, if that.
