whats goin on guys? i was thinking about doing up a fast acceleration kit for my 06 zx6rr. i've been looking around and i mainly see the sizes that are getting done up are -1 +2. was wondering if thats the best set up to go with? Also any suggestions of sprocket and chain to go with? was thinking about either afam or vortex sprokets and a DID chain? also does the chain size matter? thanks guys

 

i went -1 +2 and didnt have to change my chain...i went with Vortex for both...Sunstar i heard are good...and that is the first time ive heard it called a "fast acceleration kit" hmmmm, i guess thats accurate tho

 

You can get the whole "Drive Kit" including the sprockets & chain for around $130. Look around or someone will help with an answer or suggestion; I'm sure.

 

I got vortex sprockets. My bike has 20k on the original chain so I went with a RK chain. you pretty much can't go wrong with the big names DID RK. Sprockets I like vortex.

 

the sole purpose of this kit is to increase acceleration? does it decrease top end speed?

 

Yes; you will lose top-end speed and your speedo will be off even more but will be able to wheelie easier.

 

yeah you lose top end...but really, whats the difference between 165 and 155? besides ten miles an hour...but you'll get up to speed a hell of a lot quicker, which i think is much more fun

 

I stayed them same size in the front and went 2 up in the rear. Just a hair more excel but still have plenty of top end.
