Default Enjoy a 600 super sport while you still can!

To all you youngsters out there with a 600cc supersport like the ZX6, please enjoy it while your body still allows!

In my younger days, I wouldn’t have thought twice about pulling a 1000km (600 mile) day in the saddle of a little 600 like my old CBR Hurricane.

Fast forward 25 years and I am still riding as much as possible, but on more 'adult' machines like like the Honda 919, VFR and Buell XB12. That is until today when I decided to take my wife's ZX6r out for the day on a relatively short 300 km (200 mile) sprint out to the mountains. While there's nothing else like a compact, flickable, high-reving little 600, I don't think I'll be walking straight for a week!

LOL, Congrats on the ride time at least. I find myself regearing just abit as well as time goes by. My ninja 500 is my go to ride for short stints like yours. My 6RR and 10R are just track and no distance. I pulled that Oyster Run back in '06 with the 10R and I too, literally a week of hamstring, *** hurt. I posted up the mileage in KF back then, but it was something like a 2000 mile 3 day weekend. (memory may be off some on the mileage. lol).
Now I have my KZ1000 for those long hauls. Age is a killer!

Hi all.. just wanted to jump in and introduce myself. I just bought a new 636, I love this bike and so far so good.. I used to have several bikes in my previous years, it's been 5 years since I last rode a sports bike needless to say.. Im 42 and a little heavier then before. I hope I made the right choice, so far the riding position hasn't been too bad and I want to believe I have a few more good years in me. Im now motivated to hit the GYM!!! The love for sportbikes got me.. !! what can I say.

Welcome to KF and congrats on the new 6R

You will like the 636. Easy on the grab-n-go switch until you get used to the new gal. A good all around ride, up to maybe a 800 mile day trip for some but for most a 400 mile a day is optimum.
