I just dropped mine Saturday on it's right side also, when trying to park it... The best way to put it when telling your friends though, so they will be more humored than shameful is to say "she went down on me like Paris Hilton"...This seems to keep people from making me feel any worse about the problem and cringing etc...I ordered my footpeg yesterday... I think the install should be simple. There's a clip on the rear side where it's main mount is, and is just a little 70% looped piece of metal that will slide off, and I'm sure you'll just pull the pin and remove the peg from there once the little clip isn't holding onto the pin anymore. Mounting it shouldn't be hard, but the little spring will have to be depressed again when re-installing.
I feel your pain, I TRULY do![&o]
I was so angry that I was trying to make excuses about the right side being heavier than the left, in order for it to have dropped in the situation. I hope you weren't too terribly embarrassed during the process. I'm really sorry man. I hope everything goes well. I have been driving mine with half a footpeg now for 3 days [:-]... It seems to work out just fine though.[/align]
I'm not sure, because I am also new, but I will still give my theory that seems to make sense about the feel of the rear brake. It has only one disk and caliper, where the front has 2, and they are WAY larger. Of course cars also use larger brakes for the front end because your weight all transfers to the front when braking. The back end gets lightened the harder you brake, and the rear tirecan slip pretty easily, where the front tire is actually gaining pressure and contact in general while weight is transferring forward, and pressing down on it. It's kind of a safety issue I am guessing. This way you don't try to stop in a half-emergency and lock up your rear tire by a slight miss-calculation of foot pressure during the panic. I could be wrong, but this seems to make sense to me, and I think that's what the deal is with not feeling a whole lot of rear brake response.
Its really easy to install, i've don it once on my 05 636 and i've also done it on my cousins 07 ZX-6R. It takes only about 15 minutes to install. Just remember to adjust the piece conected to the thin long spring, that controlls your brake light, everything else is pretty explanitory. By the way i'm sorry to hear that you went down, my cousin went down last night on his left side this time and all i could do was watch. It always sucks!
i got a dirt drive and my bike sank in and fell on me, it's cool man were the fairings scratched? when mine fell, the mirror broke in half and i scratched the upper fairing under the mirror and i dropped my helmet down some stairs! i was so angry but it's cool man, you can always fix these monsters
just remember you can't always fix yourself so becareful

Bummer to hear. Luckily I bought my dropped! But hey it knocked 800 off the price
A few scatches and a bent shifter oh well it's not noticable. Don't feel too bad. 2 days after I bought my helmet it fell off the bike's rear peg when I moved the kickstand block in the parking lot! oops!
