Default Does a slip-on really add performance?

Or is is really just to add some sound to the bike at lower RPM's. I've allready done the jumper mod. I know a full exhaust would add HP but never really thought much of a Slip-on by itself. I'm wondering if I should skip a slip on and get a Power Commander first.

Bike is an '05 ZX6R 636 w/ 2000 miles BTW.

It would probably be lighter than the stock exhaust saving a few pounds which will translate into a little more performance. I did it just to make my bike sound cool tho.

most slipons people buy for the weight savings and sound, if your lookin for all out performance then go with a full system, but u can pick up some power with a slipon with a good maped pc

I had a Yoshi on my GSXR600. I found something on the Akrapovic website 3.1 rwhp and that is probably with tuning. The weight difference accounts for maybe a gallon of gas, so I think I'm going to pass on it for now. Just doesn't seem worth 600 bucks in this circumstance.

Find a used Slip-On on ebay for under $300 and you'll have the looks, sound and performance cheap.
