Hi guys im new to the forums but i got a quick question. What is the "name" of these two bikes? They both come up when I look up zx-6r, 636 or zx-636. Almost like they are interchangable, but the bikes appear very different (ie the front fairing and headlight assembly). I thought it might be model years but either way they still all come up together.

I would have to say the Years. The one in silver appears to be 03 to 04. And the one in green appears to be 05-06

 

05-06 only offered the undertail exhaust 04 and down had the low mount mid mount and high mount exhausts.

 

Well the thing i was mainly wondering about (because im sure the exaust positions can be changed...to an extent) is the angle and positions on the headlight assembly. Mainly how in the top picture the headlights sweep back and on the bottom picture they are in a rotated "V" shape

 

the 636 ran for 4 years in the US i think 6 In other countries im not to sure but they both have the same engine, nothing else that i know of is the same including wheels or forks or frame. the green one is an 2005-2006 and the silver is 2003-2004 the ninja 636 had a body change in 05 to the new style which is lighter than the 03-04 hope this helps

Yup like every one else said same bike just diffrent generation. It seems like most makes keep the same look for 2 years then do a face lift with major model changes every so often.
