I am going to buy a 636. Right now I am looking at an 03 and 04 model 636. I was wondering if there were any technical differences between an 03 and 04 model. both are relatively around the same price, well the 04 is a little more and has about 700 miles less. Was wondering if the 03 and 04 are exactly the same. Was there anything fixed for the 04, like improvements, or they exactly the same?

 

I am personallyd a bigger fan of the 04 than the 03. Quicker and I am a sucker for the under tail exhaust.

 

The 04 doesnt have the undertail exhaust. The 03 and 04 are the same bike. It was changed in 05.(undertail) I had an 04 and it is a sweet bike.

thanx for replies. SO i talked to 2 people. Im trying to decide.

One has an 04 for $6200 with delivery with 4700miles. 2 helmets one matching, matching leather jacket. Flush mounts, front and back. Stock completely, has minor scratches on right side from the lady before dropped it in her garage, said its minor and few scrathes on motor casing (told him to email me pics, but if they are minor no biggie). Also took the sticker on bottom off, looks clean. Also said the tires still have good tread on it.

The other guy has a 03 with 5500 miles for $5800, i think he said he would at least take it half way.
He has a yosh slip on, but I'd rather put my own pipe on (i like the high mounts). He has a new dunlop on back tire. No scratches. Comes with helmet. He has the custom lights on back, but stock ones on front.

Both are garage kept, so they both sound good, im going to make a decision tomm....

What sounds like better deal to you guys. I personally think if the scratches are minimal I like the less mileage on the newer year. I can deal with scrathes, if they are minor.

 

i would go for the 04. little thing like scratches are no big deal. i also go for low miles on anything. cars, boats, planes, what ever. as long as the person has taken good care of it, then things should be good. send some pics when you get the bike. good luck bro.

 

if it makes you feel any better...i didnt know they made a 636 till this year HAHA.

the newer bikes sounds like a better deal, more add ons, and leathers, sounds like all that stuff makes up for the price difference.

PS...i can see the boats and cars, but you fly planes as well???

I wanted the blue one, but this one is silver, and it still looks sweet!! peace.
