bike shut off
hi yall, i was riding my kawasaki zxe600 93' and i was doing a good 80 on the highway when the bike backfired hard twice then everything shut off. i tried to restart it nothin no push start nothing so then when i got it home i put my battery charger on it then started it up let it sit for a good 40 mins thinkin the battery wasnt charged then took the charger off and when i tried to start it again wont get any power need to try to fix it anyone have any ideas what it can be
I had the same problem with my 89 ZX7, turned out my alternator belt broke (didnt even know I had one, lol). Make sure to check the fluid in your battery and charge it fully before counting it out but it may need to be replaced. Once you get it going again, check the voltage output on the charging system, make sure that your stator/rectifier is working properly, or alternator if the 93 has one. Your manual should have procedures for testing each component so you know exactly what to replace. Let us know what you find.
