Default bearings on front wheel

i need to get my front rim replaced. one dealership i went to said that the bearings on the front wheel usually cannot be salvaged when taken out, and that itd be better to get new ones to be pressed. is he bs'ing?

the aftermarkets are like 20 bucks which is not a big deal, and does anyone have any experience with this? or have aftermarket wheel bearings?

hes not bs'ing you on the bearings. they need to be pressed out and new ones pressed in. if you have the rim and the bearings and want to bring them down to my house i can press them in for you. if i remember you rather close to me anyway. as far as aftermarkets go, im not sure who the makers are or the ones on my bike were special orders for the carrozzeria wheels but they werent cheap.

eh im not really going to wry about it myself. ill probably just let the guys at the shop do it. he said there is a shop where they can make a run for bearings if they need to. a little over a hundred for all.
