RE: amsoil
tests have shown amsoil is among the best available - however you have to buy it from a reseller not the local store so the price is as muhc or little as they want to charge you.

RE: amsoil
Yea I'm running Amsoil full synthetic, and if I remember it was about $10.00 a quart. Yikes!! But really if you think about it, that's not really that much for piece of mind.;)

RE: amsoil
another good oil to use is shell rotella 5w40 synthetic, get it at any walmart for 16.00 in the blue jug, its good stuff and thats what i use in my 04 636:D

RE: amsoil
Motul 300V! Ofcourse I'm biased because it's great oil and we are sponsored by them now too! I run it in my bike and the endurance race bikes. Don't want any engine failures!

RE: amsoil
Castrol R4 synthetic is what I use.

RE: amsoil
i seen some 1 gallon jugs on ebay, is 1 gallon enough or do i need 1 gallon and an extra quart?? oh i did the kleen mod yesterday, bikes sounds alot better like it was just tune up or something and the throttle response is slightly quicker, great mod.

RE: amsoil
it should say on the side by your oil sight glass - 4 quarts should be enough including a filter change.

RE: amsoil
I've seen some pricing on AMSOIL and Rotella but there really is no comparison as Rotella is a Petroleum oil.
I can ride a year on AMSOIL for under $48.00 (4 qts)including the AMSOIL filter... So by the time you pay 17 for the oil and another 8 for a decent filter, you have $25.00 per change (6 months/3000 miles) or $50.00 per year to do what I can for approximately the same cost, not have to drive to pick it up, walk 3 miles from the back 40 parking lot, fight the lines, worry if they have it in stock, drive back home (gas at over $3.00) and lay underneath the bike twice instead of once.... Yep... Rotella sounds like a deal to me.. NOT Doc . |
RE: amsoil
i just put the mobil 1 4t into my baby, but im just a mobil 1 fan
seemed to make a bit of a difference having clean good oil in the bike |

wow that was really interesting, i found myself cheering for mobil 1 hahaha good to know out of all the tests foaming was the only one 4t did badly, that amsoil is really good stuff apparently [/quote] I've spent the last 24 years believing in AMSOIL. Neither the Products, or the company, have ever let me down. I am sure anyone here would have to know that I came in here to not only see if I could help people either with Lubricationproblems or just understanding oil... Of course there is always the underlying hope of a few sales of which I sell to Forum Members at Dealer Cost... Here is the kick in the pants.... This Forum was eitherrecently bought out or in the process of... I am part of"AMSOIL Dealer Group"that will be advertising here and I will not be allowed to post about AMSOIL other than generically under "Oil Doc" and when you click on the Banner Ad, (not the one currently here)you will get one of about 25 Dealers in rotation... I just found out this evening... I am getting bit in the butt from something I am part of !!! Doc |
RE: amsoil

RE: amsoil

All I can ask for is that you or anyone else that may even have the glimmer of thought that you would like to try AMSOIL or get some info, send me an email now, Before this goes down, with your name address and tele and I will send a Free Catalog with contact info for me so I can discount those catalog prices.
