Adjusting Map for a better start

Adjusting Map for a better start
After the install of the PCIII the bike runs great, but it struggles to start. Befor the install, push the starter and less then a second it wound fire now it takes like 3-4 seconds of me holding down the starter. (cold and warm) So I was thinking...in theory.. I could richen it up, at throttle position 2 at 750 and 1000 rpm....and this would make it fire right away. Am I wrong????
Here is a screen shot of my map.

RE: Adjusting Map for a better start
If you add any fuel at a TP (throttle position) of 2 or more than it will not help your starting issues at all, unless you want to hold the throttle open a little while starting. That is why they give you the option of adding fuel at closed throttle (TP 0). If you add 5 or so at 500 and 750 rpms at a TP of 0 then it should help with starting without bumping up your idle since at idle you will be over 750 rpms. Give it a try, a little extra fuel will not hurt your bike. Not enough fuel can cause damage.

That makes sence. I compared the 2Brothers exhaust map, which is the one that the PC's Tehcs recommended for my bike, and it has 8 listed at 750, 1000, 1250, and 1500 at a TP of 0. I'll keep my custommap but bump up the 0 TP to copying theirs. I'll post results after the weekend.

OK Sorry for not getting back to this thread. Idid bump upthe RPM's @ 0 TP as stated befor. I didn'tnotice a difference.
I call their Power Commander's service number and got to talk to one of their Techs. He said he had never heard of a metric bike haveing a different start after installing the PC, the only problem that they havefound was in Harly Davidson's. (something to do with the battery.) He also said that "upping the RPM @ 0 TP wouldn't help with starting the motor" .....here's the interesting part......"the PC program doesn't kick in untill the motor has made 1000 revolutions." I sware, I learn something new everyday.[&:] He did ask me about the fuel pump, "after turning the key to the ON position, doyou wait until the pump is done priming, then push the starter button or do you try to star it up right away?" Well I've had always waited, it just seamed like common sencefor me to wait. He thinks I should try starting it as soon as I turn the key on. Our conversation started to fade after that. In one ear and out the other. I'll post results if there is a change after tonight. It should be nice and cold after sitting sence this weekend.

Yep worked again this morning from a cold start. 52 degrees outside.
Maybe someone with some mechnical back ground can explain how or why this works.
