Exclamation 98 zx6r brake caliper

I had just finished bleeding and changing the brake fluid on my friends 98 zx6r and went to tighten down the bleeder screw using a ratchet. I over tightened it and broke the screw off, what are my options? can I get the rest of the bleeder screw out or do I need to buy a whole new caliper? also would calipers from a 08 zzr fit this model or is it only 98-02 zx6 that are compatible?

any input would be welcome! Thanks, Mike

bummer on the break. Is it flush to the caliper? Can you still grab it with pliers or do you have to drill it out and use an easy out? Good luck.

A ratchet is not really the best tool for the job....not that I need to tell you that now. if you have some of the screw sticking out you should have no problem getting it out and getting on with your life. If its inside you may have some trouble. If you dont feel confident with easy outs or anything else that might work, take it to a machine shop. They deel with broken bolts every day and should be able to salvage it if you dont have the knowledge or tools to do it yourself.

Welcome to KF!

the bolt broke off a hair inside the caliper cnat use pliers to get it out. Im going to try the easy out and if that doesnt work ill try a machine shop. I usually dont use a ratchet on the bleeder screws but I couldnt get his tightened back up, o well.
