I just got a 05 ZZR with 8500 miles on it the other day..

Just earlier when I was driving it I noticed while starting off in 1st gear, the tranny makes 2 clicking noises.

I also have a 2007 Ninja 250, it clanks when going into 1st gear and so does the ZZR, but the ZZR clicks twice when letting go of the clutch.

Anyone ever heard of this or know anything about it?

It's the hub that the sprocket is mounted to. There are rubber dampers inside and usually they don't wear out.I'd check the chain tension and adjust & lube it first.
