Default 2001 motor in a 1994

so i just got some bad news with my bike; it's going to cost in the area of 1500 to get the engine fixed. it makes a grinding sound (almost as if missing a gear) down where the shift forks are. anyways, i figured i would just get another engine instead. its about 1200 cheaper. but the one i'm looking at has 500 miles on it and is out of a 2001 ninja. my question is what modifications would i have to do in order to put that engine in? or is it impossible?

These are made by Kawasaki, not chevy. There is ZERO chance you can get 2001 engine in a '94.

Anythings possible. Take measurements and compare the mount widths and locations. I am getting ready to try and put an 05 636 motor in my 03. If the frame is the same or similar, it may work. You can make it work by fabricating brackets of having brackets welded on if necessary. That's HOTRODDING; even on bikes. Good Luck and keep us posted.
