Default 120-70-17 Rather than 120-65-17

I have an 04 ZX-6R in desperate need of new tires and I want to try the Michelin 2CT and the front only comes in a 120-70-17 and my 04 takes a 120-65-17 the mechanic tells me it should work just fine and won't rub unless I do 140+.

Anyone already got a taller tire on there 03-04 bike that can vouch for this?

Let me know

120-70-17 will be fine bro, i ran a 120-70-17 on the front of my 04 zx6r without any problems at all, u have plenty of clearance under the front fender but i went back to a 120-65-17 bc of lowering affects

the 120/70 will be fine and won't rub at any speed. The only drawback is the taller 70 series will slow down the steering a little but on the 03-04 it will be okay because they are twitchy anyway. The 70 serieswill actually stabilize the bike at higher speeds.

Woah, tell your mechanic to put down the pipe... I personally don't want anything "rubbing" when I'm doing 140+ especially my front tire ! . My 70 series is just fine at all speeds.

Had the same problem buying a set of pp2ct for my 05 and didn't want to try a different series yet on the front. So just went with the pp / 65 so the front stayed a lil' lower.

Specification--Sidewall--Radius---Diameter---Circumference---Revs/Mile---Difference
120/65-17______3.1in___11.6in____23.1in_______72.7in_____ _____872_________0.0%
120/70-17______3.3in___11.8in____23.6in_______74.2in_____ _____854_________2.0%

The 70 series tire will be a little taller which will sacrifice turn in angle
and effort needed to flip the bike from one side to the other but I doubt it
will be noticeable. The front suspension on my old bike was too stiff up front
and instead of changing the fork springs (no fork adjustments), I went with a
taller tire and it made quite a difference in the bump handling.

The stock bridgstones are smaller outer diameter than the michelins 65 for 65 but,Hey the 70 works better for me than the 65 with the pilot power 05 636.
