i got an 06 zx6r and its running really rich. i have a two brothers slip on exhaust, powercommander with a base map and k&n airfilter and for some reason after i got the powercommander installed (with new spark plugs), the guy dynoed it and "tweaked" the base map a little bit because it was still running rich. If im at a stand still and bounce off the rev limiter it blows out black smoke as well. I could get a custom tune but that is basically a band aid over the real problem. i want to figure out why its running so rich and go from there. Any suggestions?

 

For having it tuned after install, how does the print out look like?

 

it wasnt a real custom tune. he basically tweaked the base map a lil so it wasnt running as rich.

 

 

Tweaker might not have known what he was doing........lots of people can turn a wrench few know how to program I hope yours does

Was it running rich before the PC?

 

Yes its been running rich since I got the bike with 1200 miles on it. I want to figure out why, I don't know where to start.

 

What mods were on it when you got it? Do you have the stock parts? The air filter and exhaust you mentioned should make it run leaner if anything.
