What do you like about your 03 to 06 636. The twoo thousand three is more like a race bike. there is more pressure on the bars. Footpegs are more up and back. More cramped position me being almost six foot.

 

On my 06 id have to say the undertail exhaust and since its black I love the gold accecents.

 

Well I'd done 30 000km on mine in 18mths. Worked for me.

Since owning both an 03 and 05 636, I wanted to share with you all what the differences are as far as riding and feel of the bike. I can post what I want. I don't know what the F is going on? I had a whole couple of paragraphs written and everytime I post it, I get an offline message or connection was reset. PIA! I can't believe I can write all this but not be able to post what I have written???? Must be some keywords that are kicking it off. I can only write one sentence at a time the post/ edit. This website has been screwed up since that virus a couple of weeks back. I don't understand it!![:@]

 

what? there was a virus? i have been able to post fine, the only thing i couldent do is vote for bom which kind of ticked me off. ohh well.

as for the original post, i have rear set raisers for the 06 so it puts my feet and legs in just about the same as the 03. and for saying that the 03 was more of a race bike i dissagree. the 06 has a faster 0-60 time and the cams that are used in the 06 are race cams from an 03 bike.

the way i think about it is an 03-04 is the rough mold, the 05-06 is the finnished and refined product.

 

I meant more of a racebike riding position with you over the bike. The 05-06's are definitely faster and handle better/ easier.

 

I had the same problem and i kept getting pissed at my thread on the bike setup being a bit laborious. Dunno why. I made my last post there (still unanswered - lost in the mix) about 8 times and finally said f this, a lil at a time

 

I really dont wanna start an arguement because I would love to have an 05-06 but isnt there a problem with 2nd gear on the 05-06's ?

 

Yes, there is a problem with second gear on the 05-06's and that is why they eed the Factory Pro Shift Star.
