Default Tire size

Fixing to put new tires on my 07. Thinking about going to a 180 in instead of 190 in the rear. Herd it would handle easier and the slimer tire is cheaper. Any have any input?

I would kinda like to know about this myself. I had a ZX7 with 145'ish rear tire (don't remember exactly) and it handled very well with the slimmer tire. I always liked to look at my tire lines with that tire bc they were always right on the edge. With this bike 190 rear I still got some virgin tread on the outsides. Still trying to get used to the lean of the 10 compared to that of the 7. Completely different machines!!!

Welcome to KF!

I chose a 190/50 to slow down the steering of the 10r for street use. Fits my riding technique pretty well. Will use the 190/55 for the track though.

The 180/55 is used on my zx7 and as mentioned, the two rides are completely different in geometry. I would think that a 180/55 on the 07 10r would turn in really fast. The availability and cost of the 180/55 is a plus with the different tire brands.

I haven't tried a 180 but I know several guys that have and they swear by it. I've stuck with the stock size for mine but I am sure the 180/55 would handle great on this bike.
