Well I've been having a blast riding my zx10r and man I cant believe how quickly this machine can pick up speed. I was riding on a back road here in Havelock Nc and was going nice decent speed of 55mph and got stuck behind a mercedez suv that was tailgaiting the hell out some cars and was looking to pass, I gave him some distance and well needless to say suv slammed on his brakes I slammed on mine ended up locking my back wheel and sliding for a few feet but I maintained control of the bike, so by now Im getting annoyed with the dam people driving it wich was two teenage kids, but what pissed me off was they started swerving back and forth side to side so. Well further down the road suv passed traffic and I was behind him, a nice long stretch of road came along and I figure I pass these loosers, so I dropped down to 3rd punched it, well the idiots in the suv wanted to speed up and keep me from passing but sad to say that I gave it some more raw power on my throtle and next thing I know I looked at my mirror and BAM they got dusted, so I looked down to see how fast I was going and manI was going 152mph, I swear it felt to me that I was only hitting maybe 110mph but WOW talk about going hella fast, I dont think I would have hit that speed if I was not passing that stupid suv, but I got to admit I got a hell of a rush doing it

 

Uh oh, you have the throttal bug! Just be carefull and pic your straight aways well because at that speed you cant avoid anything. But cheers on the accell I love it myself! I had a GSXR 750 that I thought was fast untill I bought my 06 10. If you ever find a nice long streetch of popo/car free highway you will be surprised how fast that speedo will hit 189! Its not correct but I imagine even with an error you are stillin the high 170's when it tops the speedo out. Just dont stick your head up!

 

You made me nervous reading about the back end sliding around. Too much rear brake!

I would have kicked the mirror off that benzo as I blazed by.

Hell if it was a lonely country road I would have stopped around the corner ahead of them and when they came around the corner sent a couple of 45 bullets into there radiator for f%cking with me. [sm=shootshoot.gif]

 

I did push down too much on my rear break but on my defense I had a brand new pair of boots I was trying on which are nice but I have yet to break in so I wasnt aware of how hard I was pushing down, other wise I would have let off on the rear and squeezed more on my front brake

 

right on, but with new gear,,,, just take it easy. You have a hell'v aride.

 

I havent really gotten on mine much yet....I think tonight I saw 10k at about half throttle....trying to break it in still....but Im getting there....its a bit faster than my 900RR lol
