Default Help new clutch plates and fibers but too much slack

Hi I am in the process of doing the clutch on my 2004 zx10. I followed the installation on zx10r.net and i made sure all the plates and fibers were installed the same way they were. That was the easy part now I've been messing with the clutch rod and cable allllllll day long and I can't get anything I mean nothing. There is nothing but slack and it won't catch. I am nearing my wits end because something that was going along fine and seemed simple has now left me stranded. Please help!!!!

Figured it out. Clutch pushrod was supposed to go inside the basket cover duh. Now that I know and gave taken it apart 10 times I imagine I'll be able to do one in 10 or 15 minutes with my power tools haha

Yes it was pretty easy and fun. Now my bike shifts down perfect no sticky shifter just smooth downshifts. And when I took the fibers and plates out I noticed they looked kind of charred in some places.
