Default Bro's or Akra's?

Alright its time to buy slip ons for the 2006 ZX10R. Im trying to decide between Dual Carbon Akra's or the Two Brother's single output VALE system that removes the CAT. My biggest question is if I remove the CAT and install the single two bro's slip on would I be ok without a PC for awhile, or should I just stick with the dual Akra carbon slip ons? And if any of u have installed the two bro's single system is there anything I should know and do u like the sound. THANKS!!

Street riding only jessiah1?

I have read that running a slip on with the stock air filter does not require any mods. But my thinking and after some reads is that tuning a ride with every adjustment is crucial. To fine tune that is, but not necessary if the engine and you are comfy. Ya get my drift?

I do understand that, I guess im looking for an answer about the Two Brothers removal of the CAT and if that cause's a reason to add a PC.

If you remove the CAT and add a slip on, plan on adding a pc3 or kit ecu. As I understand it, the stock ecu is programmed for epa regs. So basically it already runs lean in certain area's. Once you add a free'r flowing exhaust, then maybe add a different air filter, or velocity stacks, some tweaking of the ecu will be necessary.

You can run a removed CAT with a slip on without adding the pc3 or the kit ecu. Personnally, I would not feel comfy and would be checking plugs like every run to see how they looked.

Thats great advice man, Ive been looking for the right answer and I believe your right. I liked the idea of the single can and all but I think I'll go with the Akra's so I can add the PC111 l8tr this summer. i was thinking that removing the CAT and adding a slip on would be just a bit too much without fuel mapping, was hoping that someone with that 2 bro's setup would respond so I would know for sure but your explination has made my decision. Thanks!

I know this is a late post but my buddy has a 2 bros and nothing else and it runs fine without a PC3. It does pop once in a while and will spit fire sometimes. But he has around 8K miles and has had no problems and has had the exhaust on since 350 miles so it will be ok. But if you want the max get the PC3 but will be ok without it.
