A 250 can get me in trouble if I choose it.

My '05 is controllable, and not nearly as aggressive as people make it out to be. I've heard it so much, i want to make it even more aggressive now...

if ur friend is a fairly new rider he has no business on a zx10r, gixxer 1000 or r-1 steer him towards a 600 if u value his life, a good salesman would never even sell a 1000 to a new rider if he is a rider himself, unless he is a salesman with no knowledge of what he's selling, which i've seen here in long island n.y. i've seen it to many times a newbie 2 riding, splattered on the road because his skill wasnt up to par with the machine under him.as matured experienced riders, we got to keep our brother newbies safe.

I have a 06 10R, and the front end will come up when I want it, and it will hit 120 so fast you will get a haed rush, if he has never rode a big bore he needs to take it EASY at first.

$hit I know I am jumping across forums here but a noob should not be riding a zx anything...... a 600 may be too much, some people cannot control power...........but before the arguements starts, Its not our job to keep the dumb safe.

Of course it's not. He just wants some advice from people with more varied and more thorough experience than himself. And the fellow sounds like he is concerned about his safety, which is what prompted the initial post. That's good to see! And giving advice is pretty much what we're here for.
