Default What's your odometer reading?

I'm curious how many miles you guys have put on your 650r's. Also, please list any mechanical problems you've had, and if you followed the recommended break in (be honest [8D]).I just picked mine up yesterday, and I'm hoping it will be reliable as my main mode of transportation for a while. Thanks all!

I helped a friend pick out his 650 and he has been very happy with it. He was a new rider and has gone from avoiding the main roads out of fear...to avoiding them because he wants to sling that thing through all of the turns. He probably has (guessing) 2-3,000 miles just this summer and no mech. probs. Good choice...and welcome

Like most bikes, take care of maintenance religiously. Treat the bike as if you want it to last forever, and don't abuse it. It will repay you by enhancing your moto experience, getting you home every time, and becoming a very special "mechanical" friend. Sounds hokey, maybe, but I have 3 long time "friends" in the garage that are more reliable than most people I know.

Thanks for the welcomes, and I'll keep on top of the maintenace for sure. It was a tough decision as this is my first bike, but I think it was a good choice for what I need right now.

I have 1850 miles on my 07 650r and no real problems with it. I have a small exhaust leak because of the Muzzy exhaust on the bike. I have changed the oil twice since getting it, once at 600 miles and agian at 1500 miles. The only thing that bugging me is the fairing buzz and every other thing that buzzes on these bikes. It is the first bike I have ever owned and I am still getting used to the bike and the noises I hear from the engine that people say are normal. The injector tick I hear all the time used to worry me, but after reading it is normal on another forum I do not worry about it. I love the bike and have done alot to it to customize it to my own taste.

Good deal, I was wondering what that buzzing was when I get up up to speed on some roads. I know what you mean about all the noises, being that this is my first bike as well. I know the ticking is normal with many fuel injected vehicles as my last car had it too. It looks like a lot of people chose the 650r as a first bike, I was a little nervous at first and thought I should have went with a 500 or even 250. But after a few miles I feel right at home on this bike! I can't wait to find out what's waiting for me above 4k rpm!

You will love when you can get the rpm's up alittle more, the bike is quite happy from about 6000-9000rpm's.
