Seat Height Modifications?
Hey everyone!
I'm checking out the '08 Ninja 650 but if I get it I would have to have it lowered. I'm thinking at least 3"
Does anyone know how much these bikes can be lowered?
The guy at the shop said it can be lowered but he wasn't sure how much
it's been tough finding a sport bike that I like and can actually reach the ground. but I don't want to get my heart set on this bike if it can't be lowered enough.
Also, are different bikes lowered in different ways? or are there more than one way you can lower a bike? and can you combine them?
I'm pretty sure that no matter what bike I end up with I will have to have it lowered so any info is appreciated!!
Thanks!
Rachael

I'm not sure bout the '08 models butI know the previous years have a kawi seat that lowers that an inch plus theres a penske shock that adds another 1-1.5 inch drop. Ifthat won't fit you might just have to get the new full fairing 250 that looks like the previous gen zx-10
Pet, welcome to the forums. Seat height can be adjusted a fair amount. However, remember, the more you adjust it, the more you change thegeometry of the bike. If you go too far, about all you'll be good for is the dragstrip.
After you make the tweeks mentioned above, find some boots with a bit thicker sole (nothing prosthetic-looking of course [:'(]) but just something to add an extra 1/2 inch or so. It can make a big difference in the "tip" factor when you stop. You'll also get used to shifting your weightbefore you stop, so that one full extended leg is off the seat. (Leaving one butt cheek on the seat; toput it bluntly.) Don't freak; you'll get the hang of it!
Again, welcome. Keep us posted!
