Default 2007/2006 650R questions

Ok so I'm looking in to buying a 650R by the end of July. what Im curious about is does the seat come apart in two (front and rear) pieces, or is it all one piece on the 2007 model? If so Im most likely going for a 2006 model. I'd like to go brand new but if I cant fine a rear seat cowl for it I'm going with an 06 model. The future wifey wants her own bike so I wont need the seat and I'd like to replace it with a better looking cowl. Also does anyone have any sound clips of the 650R with an aftermarket pipe? I want whatever I get to sound as loud as possible and scream like a banshee!!! any help would be appreciated.

also do the grab handles on the back come off without visible proof that they were ever there? It looks like it from the pics.

Seat is one piece. They do make a few cowls that go over the back part. Yes the grab handles come off, but you have to add them first. They are an added on accessorie. It is a twin, so it will never "scream" like a sports bike.

well thats ok I just want to know the "meanest" sounding pipe there is for the 650.

So your saying that the twins dont have the high pitch scream like the in lines?

Sorry for my ignorance butI dont know a lot about the motors, and I'm trying to get back into bikes again after my little stint in a cast. Been out of it since Sept. and still recovering.

You will not get a high pitched scream from a parrallel twin, just like you would not hear a Ducati not making a high pitched scream. Even those two are totally different in pitch because of the engine arrangement.
Finding a pipe or slip on can be a difficult thing if you cannot hear the available units out there for the ride to meet your requirements.

Check out the link below.. It has sound clips for almost all the aftermarket pipes out right now. I personally have the Jardine and I love it. As for the seat I custom made a seat cowl for my bike and Ermax contacted me and had me design another one to send to there design guys for possible future production. I heard from them last week they received my cowl, and they were going to be test fitting this weekend, so hopefully it will be on the market soon. There is a pic below of the cowl on my bike, the one that I sent this is almost identical.

The Jardine clip was not working for me. Nice link of the clips.

Went to the Leo Vince site, I like the sound of it.

edit: Went under the ER6f

When I went to buy an exhaust it was between the Jardine and the Leo. At the time no one had the Jardine so I decided to be different, and I bought the Jardine. I believe Gary at www.blueridgeperformance.net is carrying both of these exhaust plus almost all the others out there. I have bought a lot of the stuff on my bike from him.. He is a great guy, and gets parts to you quick and for a good price.

That is good to know, but I tend to deal with site sponsors first.
