Default Ninja 650 Cold start problem

Hello Friends,

Facing starting problem with my 650 recently in the cold weather. Also earlier RPMs used to go up to 15-1600 straight away but now it takes time to build up. The bike is year and a half old.

Video of start up.

I took my bike to authorised service center and they said the vaccum pipe was loose and was causing the problem. But I doubt that was a valid reason. The starting problem no doubt is gone but the RPMs still take time to build up.

Any Suggestions?

It may be an electrical related problem. Have you had your battery checked?

Hey I was having the same thing happen to me a month ago before I put it up till March. It would start but rpms would be lower for a few seconds and then idle just fine. Had to give it a little throttle on some days

The problem was related to battery only. In only 1.5 years, the battery is dead. Have raised a warranty claim for same. Might have to wait for few days for approval.

as a side note. do not forget you have an idle speed adjuster located on the right side of your bike (if you're sitting on 650).

It should be warmed up and idle set to 1300-1500rpm.
