welcome to the site. I'm sure with a few mods she will move for you. Sounds like things you mention might work out for you pretty good.

Yes, there a few exhausts out there that are good. Leo Vince, Arrow, Arata (very expensive $699, just for the slip on version), Muzzy and Hindlethese are the better ones.
A Power Commander is also recommended, even if you just going with a slip on exhaust.
Also, if you really want to get it running perfect, pay for some dyno tuning after making these modifications.
Good luck with the bike and if you really want to know how to wake it up, just ask, though this requires going into the engine internally and shelling out a few more bucks!

You could change the sprockets, because changing the tooth count will help you out with the get up and go problem you want to change.

I found a web site called www.ninja650.com that is with motospecialities.com. they have a great selection of all the diffrent parts that will fit the bike. havent ordered myself yet, so cant say about the service.

jp is correct you can gain acceleration by either dropping one tooth in the front or adding 2 teeth to the back. Good sources for 650R parts and help, would be either islandmotorcycle.com
or blueridgeperformance.net, both shops have built and raced this bike.

Thanks that helps alot. I think just the slip on, power commander, tune and maybe a sprocket change for now.... dont have too much to throw at the bike since my main thing im working on is my car!

Might be an odd question, but if the 650 isn't fast enough for you why did you buy it?

THere are plenty of faster bikes.
