2009 650r engine limits
Hi all,
Recently wrapped up my 400whp twin turbo Bandit 1200 project so I'm looking for a new project to focus my energy on.
I have an '09 Ninja 650r that I've been eyeing up as a potential candidate, but I'm a bit unsure about what the engine can handle. Not looking for crazy power, looking to land in the 90-100whp range at around 5 or 6 pounds of boost. Unfortunately, the limited information I'm finding online seems to indicate that the block itself has a propensity to split in half at above 90hp, well before finding the mechanical limits of the rods or pistons.
I'm hoping someone with some experience getting decent power out of a 650 engine can chime in and lend some efficacy to the claims I've found that are mentioned above, as well as any other potentially useful information.
Thanks!
